Sheila B Williams

A native of Douglasville, Sheila was born on April 1, 1949 to the late Herman Brown and late Mary Leak Brown.

Sheila was such a kind hearted individual: she was selfless, giving and patient. She was the best mother who helped to shape and mold her children into the people who they are today. Sheila was not only a devoted mother, but also a great teacher. She began her career as a special education teacher and had a talent for pushing others to do their best. Her success as an educator carried over to her family as she changed careers to a homeschool teacher for Megan and Tony as well as being a full time homemaker.

Sheila was independent and not one to stay idle – she loved being on the move and would often take her children out shopping or for various outings. This love of travel worked well with her post educator career as a bank courier. She would travel from as far south as Macon to north Georgia daily and loved it.

Sheila’s main joy in life was her family; she also enjoyed trips to the beach, traveling and shopping.

Her memory will be cherished by her significant other, Fernando Lopez; daughter, Megan Gordon and her husband, Marcus; sons, Jeffery Williams and Tony Lopez; a niece who was like a daughter, Laura Teal; brother, Norman Brown; sister, Helen Ross; grandsons, Jeffrey Williams and Maddox Gordon; many nieces, nephews and extended family members; and friends whose lives she has touched.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 17, 2021 from 12:00pm until 1:00pm at Whitley-Garner at Rosehaven Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Service will follow in Rosehaven Chapel with Pastor Ned Fowler officiating.
