Mr. Robert “Boosie” Jones, Sr., age 75, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away on Sunday, May 22, 2022. He was born on August 14, 1946 in Warrenton, North Carolina. Robert was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. His family was his world. Whether watching sporting events, having nearly weekly Sunday dinners, or going on a family vacation to Disney, Pigeon Forge, or Ocean City, he always made sure to make them his first priority. In his spare time, Robert enjoyed fishing, watching TV or cooking southern type meals for himself. He had a great sense of humor and really got a kick out of people getting tased on cop shows. He was an avid fan of the Washington Redskins and Nationals.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Burton and Teretha Jones; his siblings, Burton Jones, Jr., James Jones, Ernest Jones, Lorenzo Jones.
He is survived by his wife, Rana Jones; his children, Robert, Jr., Celestie, Eugene, and Cecelia; his brothers, Ronnie Jones, Gregory Jones, and Dale Jones; his sisters, Wanda Manago, Gladys Jones, and Niecy Jones; and his 17 grandchildren: Cy, Moriah, Leah, Shaleita, Shamika, Faith, Eugene, Geneva, Charity, Raven, Rana, Lavonda, Anita, Shanyce, Malcolm, Donald, and Thomas.
The family will have friends at the funeral home on Saturday, May 28, 2022 from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 2:00 pm in the Rosehaven chapel with Robert “Dooley” Manago officiating. In accordance with his wishes, Robert will be cremated following the service.
