Mrs. Nancy DeBruhl Wright, age 78, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Thursday, July 28, 2016. She was born July 1, 1938 in Lexington, South Carolina. She was a 1956 graduate of Douglas County High School where she was high school sweethearts with Doug Wright. They were married for 57 years prior to his passing in 2014. She spent many years as the Director of the Good Samaritan Center of Douglasville and was honored with a service award for Woman of the Year from the Junior League in 2009. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She loved traveling, was an avid reader and was a member of the Laughing Ladies Book Club. Nancy was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Douglasville, where she was an Elder and a Stephen Minister. She enjoyed being involved in the church bible studies and women’s groups. Nancy always had a smile on her face and was known for her giggle.
Mrs. Wright is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Douglas Lee Wright, Sr.; her parents, Ben and Carrie DeBruhl; sister, Ruth DeBruhl Fargason and brother, Harry Clark DeBruhl.
She is survived by her son, D. Lee Wright, Jr. and wife Sonya; grandchildren, Jake Wright and Elizabeth Wright; son, Marcus C. Wright; sisters, Emogene Nunis and Sharon Chapman; nieces and nephews, Harry DeBruhl, Jr., Peggy DeBruhl Blackmon, Ralph Nunis, Jr., Allen Nunis, EmLee Pylant, Alethia Baggett; and sister-in-law, Nelle Wright Wigginton.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, July 30, 2016 from 5 until 7 o’clock pm. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, July 31, 2016 at the First Presbyterian Church of Douglasville, 9190 Campbellton St. Douglasville, GA 30134, at 3 o’clock pm.
The family will accept flowers or donations may be made in Nancy Wright’s memory to the First Presbyterian Church.
