Mr. James Thomas “Tom” Jones, Jr., age 87, of Douglasville, GA passed away Wednesday, January 21, 2015. He was born May 6, 1927 in Douglasville, GA. Mr. Jones was a Douglasville resident for 46 years. He was an Air Force Veteran and served during WWII from 1945 until 1946. Tom retired from Southern Railroad after 44 years.
Mr. Jones is survived by his wife of 67 years, Sara Chapman Jones; sons Dennis and wife Sherry Jones, Randy and wife Vickie Jones; daughter-in-law Linda Jones Geist; brother-in-law Gene and wife Carol Chapman; niece Charlotte and husband Steve Crawford as well as cousins Ray and wife JoAnne Jones and Riley and wife Margie Jones.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, January 23, 2015 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. The funeral service will be Saturday, January 24, 2015 at 1:00 PM in the Rosehaven Chapel with Reverend Tommy Chapman officiating.
