He was born on August 12, 1938, the son of the late Mr. Hilton Julius Arnold, Sr. and Mary Eloise Haney Arnold.
Hilton served his country with honor in the United States Air Force for 22 years, retiring as a Major. He graduated from Georgia Tech University in 1962 with a bachelor’s in science and industry, a testament to his dedication and hard work. A true supporter of Georgia Tech, Arnold was a season ticket holder for Georgia Tech Football, showing his unwavering loyalty to his alma mater.
Hilton had a deep passion for life, with several things that brought him great joy. He was an avid casino enthusiast, always finding excitement and camaraderie in the games. His faith was central to his life, and he was a devoted member of One Heart Church, where he had been an active participant since 2005. Hilton lived his life as a strong Christian, always guided by his faith and love for his family. He cherished his family deeply and was proud of the bonds he built with them.
In addition to his parents, Hilton is preceded in death by his wife of 14 years, Sylvestra “Bess” Arnold.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Judy McCune, Tina Arnold, and Lisa Arnold Parlier; grandchildren, Kristi Stewart, Sarah Warner, William McCune III, Mary McCune, Kelly McCune, Devin Parlier, Kyle Parlier, Jordon Parlier, Landon Parlier, Kera Newton and Bryanah Troutt and his great-grandchild, Nellie Stewart.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, November 24, 2024 from 2:00 PM-3:00 PM.
A memorial service will be conducted on Sunday, November 24, 2024, from Whitley Garner at Rosehaven Funeral Home at 3:00 PM with Pastor Ron Swift officiating. Interment will be held at the Douglasville City Cemetery, with honors from the United States Air Force.
