Gail Allen, age 82, of Carrollton, Georgia, passed away Thursday, September 5, 2024. She was born December 18, 1941 in Atlanta, Georgia. Family Centric would be the best description for Gail. A devoted wife and loving mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother she loved to cook, clean the house and was the best at ironing. A delightful cook, she was known for her fudge and red velvet cakes, which were her favorites. Her house was always spick and span and nothing was out of place. She was very close to her family members and always supportive and ready to lend a helping hand. Gail loved working outside in her yard. She was not only a big fan of Rod Stewart and Bob Seger, was a member of their fan clubs. She loved to dance the Jitterbug.
Preceding her in death were her beloved husband, Billy Allen; parents, James Clark and Thelma Lee (Boswell) Helton; brothers, Clyde Helton, Paul Helton, Randy Helton, Gene Helton and Ronnie Helton.
Those left to cherish her memory are her dear friend, Robin Franklin; daughter, Lynn McLarty (Dennis); sons, Jeff Turner, Chuck Carson (Eva) and Greg Carson (Joanna); her only surviving sibling—her sister, Sue Adams (Harold); nine grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; as well as other extended family members and a host of friends.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, September 10, 2024 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM in the Rosehaven Chapel with Pastor Tommy Payne officiating.
