Mrs. Fay Wages Smith, age 77, of Villa Rica, Georgia, passed away Sunday, May 31, 2020. She was born December 8, 1942 in Atlanta, Georgia. Mrs. Smith worked as an IT Specialist/Programs System Analysist at Ft. McPherson, retiring with more than 30 years of service. She was very detail oriented. Mrs. Smith was a loving, devoted and faithful person. A family-centric person, she was devoted to her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was active in her church, where she taught Sunday School and supported the Women’s Ministry.
Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Annie Belle (Banister) Wages; son, Brian Smith; and sister, Sue Humphries.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 59 years, James Larry Smith; son, Jeff Scott (Penny) Smith; sister, Rachael (Martin) Keller; three grandchildren, Jared (Morgan) Smith, Katie (Chance) Pike and McKenzie Smith and her fiancé, Jake Totten; three great-grandchildren, Eli, Kadence Fay and Charlie Ray.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, June 4, 2020 from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 PM. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM in the Rosehaven Chapel with Reverend Kenneth McDaniel officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Harmony Memorial Gardens in Mableton, Georgia.
