Ms. Davis passed away peacefully at the age of 89, surrounded by the warmth and love of her family and close friends. She leaves behind a legacy that epitomized the values of family bonds and an unwavering love of our Lord, Jesus Christ. Mom was loved and cherished in the hearts of so many. She was kind and thoughtful and will be missed and remembered by the many lives she touched.
Dorothy was born in Manchester, Georgia on July 13, 1934 and graduated from Manchester High School in 1951. She held several jobs but for most of her career, she was a teller for Wells Fargo. She enjoyed getting to know her customers and helping them with their banking needs. To her children, Karen Dobbins, Steve (Tammy) Davis and Terri Mellicoat she was not just a mother but a loving and devoted one. Her role as a grandmother to her nine grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild brought her a lot of joy. Her canine companions were loved and very dear to her. Bootsie and Taffy are enjoying a long walk with her now.
Reunited in heaven with her beloved husband, Cecil Reginald Davis; mother, Ernestine Sosebee,sister, Linda Vining and many other family members and dear friends, their eternal bond continues to comfort those who held them dear.
Dorothy Ann Davis will forever be cherished for her dedication to her family and her friends. The countless lives she touched with her kindness, generosity and love will serve as an enduring source of inspiration for all those fortunate enough to have crossed her path.
The family of Dorothy Ann Davis will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, December 1, 2023 from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM. The funeral service will follow in the Rosehaven Chapel at 3:00 PM with Pastor Barry Dollar officiating. A private graveside service will be held at the conclusion of the funeral service.
