Vincent graduated from Nicholls State University with both a Bachelors and Master's degree in Education. His passion was educating the children of the Donaldsonville Community for over 40 years. Vincent loved spending time with his family, as well as gardening and going to the casino.
Vincent is survived by his wife of 53 years, Rosemary Miano Giardina; daughters, Lori Charlet (Gary) and Natalie Dugas (Joseph); son, William Giardina (Mikki); sister, Marie Tortorich (Vincent); grandchildren, Alayna (Trevor) and Alden Charlet and Reid and Brooks Giardina; and great grandchildren, Liam and Scarlett Rose Boatman.
Vincent was preceded in death by his parents, William "Willie" and Concetta "Tina" Tripode Giardina.
Visitation will be on Saturday, September 17, 2022, at Ascension of our Lord Catholic Church, Donaldsonville from 8:30am until 11am. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11am on Saturday, September 17, 2022 at Ascension of our Lord Catholic Church, with Father Matthew Dupre celebrating. Burial will be in Ascension of our Lord Mausoleum.
Pallbearers will be Trevor Boatman, Alden Charlet, Joseph Dugas, Brooks Giardina, Reid Giardina, William Giardina, Gary Leger and Michael Tortorich. Honorary pallbearers will be Brother Carl Bouchereau, Andrew Joffrion, John Allen Landry, Kenneth Pizzolato and Ruben "Shorty" Theriot.
A heartfelt thanks to Dr. Vince Cataldo and his wonderful staff, especially nurse Jeanette Moore; the staff of Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center; nurse Emily Gregory of Audubon Home Health; and nurses Christen Turner and Chad Truxillo of Clarity Hospice of Baton Rouge.
In lieu of flowers, donate to DAARC (Donaldsonville Area Arc), of which Vincent served as a board member.
