He is survived by his wife, Diane Graugnard Lemann; four sons and daughters-in-law, Robert “Bubba” (Julia) Lemann, Jr., Benjamin “Ben” (Caroline) Lemann, Jason (Emily) Lemann, and Matthew (Alison) Lemann; 12 grandchildren, Robert, Camille, Jeanne, Elizabeth, David, Mary Frances, Miriam, Anna Kate, Olivia, Ella, Elise, and Emerson; two brothers, Arthur (Roberta) Lemann III and Peter Lemann; four sisters Kathleen (Jess) Waguespack, Sue (Mike) Cooper, Becky (Steve) Meadows, Elizabeth “Zabette”(Steve) Ortte, and special family members Dianne Lamb and Nancy Nafe, and mother-in-law, Grace Graugnard.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Camille K. and Arthur A. Lemann, Jr., father-in-law, Marcel T. Graugnard, Sr., brother David Lemann and nephews Parker Lemann, Aaron Lemann, and Micheal Cooper Jr.
Robert was the President of Palo Alto Plantation, the farm on which he was born, worked and adored his entire life. He was also the President of Lemann’s Farm Supply for the past 20 years. He served as a Director on the boards of Palo Alto, Lemann’s Farm Supply, Graugnard, Inc, and several other family businesses. He was also a member of the Kappa Alpha Order while attending Louisiana State University and was an active member of Farm Bureau, serving as parish president during the 1980s. He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi / Ascension of Our Lord Catholic Church. Nothing in life was more important to Robert than sharing simple pleasures with his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking, horseback riding and sharing the Palo Alto land and home with family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 p.m. at Ascension of Our Lord Catholic Church in Donaldsonville celebrated by Rev. Phil Spano. Arrangements by Ourso Funeral Home in Donaldsonville. Private burial will be held at 4:00 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Robert Lemann, Jr, Ben Lemann, Jason Lemann, Matthew Lemann, Robert Lemann, III, David Lemann, Dewey Gravois, and Donnie Benoit.
