Raymond was a loving father, grand father, great grandfather, great-great grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. He enjoyed watching old movies, especially old western movies, sitting in his rocker outside on his patio, and spending time with his family. Raymond retired from Dow Chemical in Grand Bayou.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his seven children, Perry Blanchard (Bobbi), Tammy Coupel (Warren Sr.), Raymond "Ray" C. Blanchard Jr. (Cynthia), Claude J. Blanchard (Sarah), Wendy Anastasio (Damian), Troy Blanchard (Sherry), and Michelle Bourge (Keith); fifteen grandchildren, Jeremy Blanchard, Matthew Blanchard, Warren Coupel Jr., Blaire Clement, Nichole "Nikki" Guillot, Amanda Deslatte, Chad Blanchard, Rachael Allison, Daniel Simoneaux, Ryan Simoneaux, Brooke Chism, Candice Blanchard, AJ Bourge IV, Alaina Bourge, and Luke Bourge; twenty three great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren and his one brother, Kenneth Blanchard.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn S. Blanchard; parents, Claude and Edith Blanchard; one sister, Peggy LeBlanc; two daughters-in-law, Karen Blanchard and Gina Blanchard and one son-in-law, AJ Bourge III.
A visitation will be held at Ourso Funeral Home in Donaldsonville on Monday, December 4, 2023 from 9am until service at 11am with Pastor Joe Sedotal officiating the service. Interment to follow at St. Jules Catholic Church Mausoleum.
