Kent Dominic Morris Sr.

Kent Dominic Morris, Sr. passed away Thursday, January 7, 2016 at his home at the age of 80. He was a resident and native of Donaldsonville. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Margaret T. Morris; children, Kent D. Morris, Jr. and wife, Connie, Becky M. Barbier, Eric P. Morris and wife, Melinda, and Troy D. Morris; grandchildren, Michele Montero, Jennifer Aucoin, Melaine Beck, Jessica Barbier, Brad Morris, Jillian Barbier, and Brooke Morris; great-grandchildren, Kynlee Barbier, Bently Church, Greyson Aucoin, Samantha Montero, Aubrey Aucoin, and Olivia Beck; brother, Ronnie Morris; special friends, Luke and Annalyn Giroir. Kent is preceded in death by his parents, Estave and Florence Morris; siblings, Anna Mae Young, Shirley Morris, Agnes LeBlanc, Muriel Simoneaux, Dorothy Rushing, Roy Morris, Rudy Morris, Steve Morris, Claude Morris, and Nelson Morris; daughter-in-law, Rachel G. Morris. Kent had an incredibly kind heart and never met a stranger. He was always willing to lend his handyman talents to those who needed it and never expected anything in return. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and loved ones. Kent had a great love for his 3 dogs, Lucy, Lady, and Blue. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 11, 2016 at St. Francis Assisi Catholic Church in Donaldsonville from 8:30 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am officiated by Fr. Paul Yi and Fr. Andrew Merrick. Entombment will immediately follow in St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church Mausoleum. His seven grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
