George Morgan Regira

He was born January 10, 1944. He retired from Ormet Corp. George was an avid fisherman and hunter. He loved to explore Louisiana’s natural beauty and sampling its diverse cuisine.

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Virgie; two sons, Chad (Angela), and Todd; four grandchildren, Brandon, Morgan (Lynzie), Devon and Riley Regira; great-grandson, Lawson Regira: sister, Carole Ann Palermo; along with a host of nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Lois Falcon Regira; grandson, Cameron; brother, Lawrence (Larry) Regira: and brother-in-law, Sidney Palermo.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. John Godke, the staff of Baton Rouge General and to Sgt. Chambless of the Ascension Parish Police Department for their care and compassion.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 from 9:00 am until the Memorial Mass at 11:00 am at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Donaldsonville. Father Matt Dupre will be officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or St. Jude in his honor.
