Agnes Marie Capone Rome

Agnes was born on March 28, 1926 in Donaldsonville, LA and was a lifelong resident of Smoke Bend. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church and an avid card player with her hand and foot club. She loved visiting family and friends; going on many vacations, cooking and baking cakes for her family almost every Sunday.

She is survived by her four sons, Lester Jr. (Virginia), Stanley (Brenda), Stephen and Benton (Teri); nine grandchildren, Michelle (Bruce) Rivers, Becky (Larry) Hebert, Jacob Rome (Mya), Alycia (Adam) Schupbach, Erica Mills, James Rome, Stevie Rome, Derrick Rome, and Danielle (Benji) Blouin; twenty two great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Lester ”Bud” Rome Sr., parents, Agnes and John Capone Sr.; brothers, Elmo Capone, Carl Capone Sr., John Capone Sr., and Robert Capone Sr. and daughter-in-law, Kelly Rome.

Visitation will be at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on Wednesday, May 3, 2023 from 11am until Mass of Christian Burial at 2pm. Interment will be held in the church Mausoleum.
