It is with broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Terry, 69 at the Halifax Infirmary on June 22, 2022. A resident of Porters Lake, Digby Co. he was always saying “let’s go to the lake” as we travelled in the road to our home where we loved living.
He was the son of the late Dennis and Geneva (Murray) Riley and he is survived by his wife, of 48 years, Betty (Budd); children, Rebecca (Becky) Riley (Raymond), Joel Dennis Riley (Amber), Jason Arthur and Stephanie Riley; grandchildren, Riley Goodwin, Braydon Morrison, Azlin Morrison, Cooper Riley and Emmah Riley. He also loved to visit Manny, Millie and Papaya “the fur grand babies”. Also survived by sisters and brothers, Nancy (Riley) & Rodney Wright, Doris Ross and Dean Budd as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Growing up in Bear River Terry was part of a very unique group of friends who, to this day, have remained close.
He always looked forward to and enjoyed their special weekend in October “Heading into Chub Lake” to eat some great food, have a few drinks, remember the past and play cards. His best times were centered around being “in the woods” hunting, trapping and fishing or just cruising the woods roads with his friend Willis Marshall. He also enjoyed playing in the garage and garden.
The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to Dr. John Black for his medical care and support to Terry for the past 32 years. Also to the medical staff of the ER-Digby General Hospital, Life Flight attendants and all those who provided care and attention to Terry at the Halifax Infirmary, we appreciate and thank you for your service. Cremation under the care of Jaynes Funeral Home, Digby has taken place and as per Terry’s wishes there will be no services.
