Walker, Stewart Charles (Charlie) age 65 of Digby. It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Charlie Walker. He passed away Friday, July 29th in the South Shore Regional Hospital after a battle with Vascular Dementia. Born in Sydney, he was the son of the late Neil and Pat (Keating) Walker. He completed Grade X11 at Sydney Academy and then graduated from Acadia University. Charlie taught for over 30 years at the Digby Regional High School. He was an avid athlete playing hockey for Sydney Academy and Acadia University and junior baseball for the Sydney Sooners. He also was an active hockey referee and loved playing golf at the Digby Pines. He is survived by his three children: Nick (Jamie and grand-daughter Rowan), Carly (Jeremy), Morgan (Nate) all of Yarmouth and his brother David (Linda) in Bridgewater. Funeral service will be held 11am Thursday, August 4th from Grace United Church, Digby. Rev. Alex Constable officiating with burial in Fairview Cemetery, Digby. A reception will follow in the Church Hall. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Jayne’s Funeral Home, 7 Birch St., Digby, 902-245-2525. Family flowers only.
