Lorraine Althea Marshall

Age 96 of South Range NS, passed away Friday, Sept 27, 2024 at Tideview Terrace long term care home in Digby, NS. She was the daughter of Harley and Ida (Prime) Dakin and was born in Centreville, Digby Co. NS. She had four siblings and was predeceased by Edsell (Mary), Winona (Louis), Sheila (Arnold) and is survived by her brother Milton and sister-in-law Betty, Bowmanville, ON.

Her life was filled with much love and many activities. Her first love was her husband, Guy (deceased) and their family of 5, sons Murray (Shirley), (George, deceased) Lynda, Larry (Marilyn), daughters Phyllis (Martin, deceased) Marilyn (Bobby) and her extended family. She loved baking, cooking, quilting, card playing, scrabble gaming, bowling, having visitors and her church life as a faithful woman, of which she took part in many aspects. She loved children, her large family of children brought her much joy and she foster parented many more over a career as a registered foster parent. In the past year and a half, she was a resident at Tideview Terrace and was beloved by staff and many residents. Her group of friends she discovered, enjoyed many evenings of time spent together playing 45's. She was Resident Council President at TVT and was voted Tideview Terrace Princess 2024 for Digby Scallop Days, she was very proud to be able to take part in both of these.

With great pride in her family, she would lovingly talk about and enjoyed time with her 17 grandchildren, (1 deceased), 45 great-grandchildren, (3 deceased) and 11 great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Our final goodbyes will be at SRCC (South Range Christian Church) in South Range NS with visitation from 4-8pm Tuesday, Oct 1, 2024 and a Celebration of Life funeral service at 2:00pm Wednesday Oct 2, 2024. Her grandson, David Marshall and her minister, Josh Stevenson officiating.
