Joseph Eddie Dugas

Eddie Joseph Dugas, age 75 of New Edinburgh, passed away May 11, 2023 at home. Born in St. Bernard Eddie was a son of the late Adolphe and Lucille (Boudreau) Dugas. He lived with his parents until he married the love of his life (the late ) Catherine (Doucette) on April 18, 1964. Eddie enjoyed bowling ,hunting fishing, playing cards, buggying, but above all there is nothing he loved more than his family . After overcoming a freak accident aboard his fishing boat at a young age, he beat the odds and was able to walk and work at multiple jobs to provide for his family. They made their home in New Edinburgh where they raised their 5 children, son Gerald (Leonie) Dugas, daughters Paulette Dugas (Chris Westcott), Dianne Dugas (Brian Saulnier), Claudette (Ashton) Gavel, and Yvette (Leamon) Doucette. Throughout the years, they got to enjoy their many grandchildren Jennifer, Justin, Brandon, Jeffrey, Erik, Tyler and Keerie. After Catherine’s passing on Feb. 16, 2018, Eddie was blessed with 2 great-grandchildren Alexa and Liam. He is also survived by his siblings Roseanne, Hubert many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents and his wife , Eddie was predeceased by his brothers Gerald, Joseph, William and sister Aimee . As per his wishes, cremation has taken place, under the care and direction of Jayne’s Funeral Home , Digby. Family and friends are welcomed to Celebrate his Life at the family home for an open house on Saturday, May 20, 2023 any time after 1PM.
