Vincent, Grace Hughina – 95 of Digby, Nova Scotia passed away peacefully December 15, 2021 at the Annapolis Royal Nursing Home. Born in Digby, she was the eldest child of the late Hugh and Grace Emily (Marshall) Vincent. She grew up in the depression era and very much enjoyed visiting her Uncle Joe’s farm in the Acacia Valley and seeing her cousins. She was very involved with Girl Guides in her teen years. After high school she studied to become a teacher, earning her Bachelor of Science degree in Home Economics at Acadia University in 1958. She was the top student of her graduating class! Grace taught at a variety of high schools throughout Nova Scotia and New Brunswick before finally obtaining a permanent teaching position at the Digby Regional High School in 1957. She went to England in 1960 on a one-year teacher exchange program where she had the privilege of being presented to the Queen Mother at a garden Party in London. She retired from teaching in 1980 to help her sister look after their mother as their father had passed away. She was an avid photographer and led a very contented life. She is survived by her sister Violet Ramona Vincent, sister-in-law Hilary, two nephews Alan and Ian Vincent (Jessie), grand-niece-Amelia and grand-nephew Sam. She is predeceased by her brothers Robert and Herb, and sister-in-law Ruth. A special thank you to all the staff at the Annapolis Royal Nursing Home for their care and attention of Aunt Grace. A graveside funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 21 at the Hill Grove Baptist Cemetery. Donations can be made to the Digby Baptist Church.
