December 24, 1954- August 20, 2024
Catherine Rose Jubin – To put into words who Cathy was as a person and what she meant to her family and friends would be next to impossible. There are not enough words to describe a woman of such affection, dedication, commitment, and pure love. Cathy was born December 24, 1954 in Hilltown to Pearly and Florence Brittain. Cathy spent most of her life living it to the fullest between her time out west, working in the mink, owning both a hair salon and her “baby” Jubins Aquarium. Amongst her many years working, she never lost her sense of community. Cathy was always the first to help, to put everyone ahead of herself and do anything and everything she could for anyone who needed it. She volunteered many years of her life to the Weymouth Fire Dept., Royal Canadian Legion, Weymouth and the local celebrities, “The Hillbilly Band”. She took pride in her family, friends and community. There was not a song Cathy couldn’t sing, a music show she didn’t attend or an event she would miss. The family is comforted in knowing she is no longer in pain and is in the arms of our Father, Lord Jesus. In her final days, she was surrounded by more family and friends than the hospital knew what to do with. She was happy listening to the gospel Donnie kept for her, singing every song the best she could. Throughout it all she remained our Cathy. She will be forever remembered for her contagious smile, her comforting, heartwarming, heartfelt hugs and her concern for everyone’s wellbeing. Even in her final days, “How are you?" was her most asked question to both her visitors and health care team. She will be truly missed and we are blessed to have had her in our lives. Her “I love you more" will be forever in our minds and in our hearts. Cathy committed her life to her husband of 50 years, Donnie Jubin; their son, David Jubin and her Faith in God. Surviving are her husband, Donnie Jubin; son, David Jubin; 3 grandsons, Julian, Brandon, and Tyler; sister, Mary Brittain, Sundre AB.; brothers, Charlie (Janice), Bowden AB; Stanley (Lisa), Havelock; Pat (Floreen) Weymouth; Billy (Trudy), Plympton; James (Tanya), Bridgewater; and Clarence “Peeker” (Bernadette) Hassett; many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and a large extended family.
