Jim is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Sue; his best furry friend, Bella; his children Harold (Lori) Ostrom, Alicia (Bruce) Abbott, Kurt Ostrom, and Stephanie (Fred) Myers; twelve grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Doris, his brother Gary, and two grandsons.
Jim loved the outdoors. Hunting and fishing were among his greatest passions—he took pride in filling the family freezer with fresh game and perch. He also cherished camping trips with family and friends. In later years, one of his greatest joys was hosting “Camp Patterson” weekends, when the whole family would camp in his and Sue’s yard.
At Jim’s request, there will be no funeral service. A small, private gathering to remember Jim will be held at a later date, by invitation only. He also asked that there be no flowers or donations—only prayers for his family as they continue on without him.
If you’d like to honor Jim in your own way, raise a glass of Pepsi, cast a line, or spend a quiet moment watching the birds. He’ll know you’re thinking of him.
