Born September 26, 1953, in Lansing; died April 5, 2011, at the age of 57. Ronald had retired after 31 years of service from GM. He enjoyed playing softball and golf and liked to go hunting. Ronald loved spending time with his wonderful family, especially his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Tracy Slater in 2006. Surviving are his son, Ronald (Jami) Slater; grandchildren, Breck Cole, Madison Slater, Bailey Slater and Ronnie Slater; and his sister, Carol (Larry) Snyder. Funeral services will be held Saturday April 9, at noon at the Gorsline-Runciman Funeral Homes, 205 E. Washington St., DeWitt. Interment will follow in DeWitt Cemetery, DeWitt. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the family c/o the funeral home.
