Ronald Roy Helsel

Ron was born in May of 1942 in Pontiac, Michigan the son of Howard and Helen (Stringer) Helsel. He graduated from Pontiac High School, attended Lansing Community College, traveled to Wyoming in 1964 where he met and married his wife, Carole Ann.

Ron loved being outdoors and worked for 45 years as a professional land surveyor. He also obtained a surveying license in Colorado. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and later became an avid golfer playing many rounds of golf with treasured friends. He also enjoyed traveling and reading. Ron is survived by his wife Carole Ann, daughter Andrea (Gregg) Reed of Georgetown, KY, son-in-law Matt Ohlemacher of St. Johns, MI, grandchildren: Daniel Reed, Ashley Reed, Matthew Ohlemacher, Ronnie Ohlemacher, and mother Helen Finkbeiner of Waterford, MI. Ron was preceded in death by his daughter Kim (Helsel) Ohlemacher, brother David Helsel, and father Howard Helsel. A memorial service will take place at 2:00 pm Friday, January 6, 2017 at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 205 E. Washington, DeWitt, MI.
