He graduated from DeWitt High School in 1957. He served in the U.S. Marine Corp from 1957-1963. He married his 1st true love, Linda Joan Bair on January 23, 1960. He worked as a sheet metal journeyman, contractor and part owner of Dard in Lansing from 1958-1986. He married Rae Ellen Abbott on August 17, 1979. They moved to their dream home in Mecosta in 1990.
He was an active member of St Jude’s Catholic Church (DeWitt), St Michael’s Catholic Church (Remus), the Knights of Columbus and volunteered for Meals on Wheels.
Larry loved bowling, golf, fishing, hunting and spending time with family and friends. He has been known to shoot a deer from his deck wearing only a towel. He had a love for MSU and passed that on to his children and grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his father, Allen Patrick Foy; mother, Margaret (Cummings)Foy; brother, Gene Foy; daughter, Julie Marie Foy; and wife, Linda (Bair) Foy.
He is survived by wife: Rae Ellen Foy; daughters: Lisa (Jess) Kingston, Leslie (Grant) Myers, Lara (Dave) Miller; sons: Landon (Wendy) Foy, and Andrew Foy. Grandchildren:
Adam and Lindsey Kingston, Hannah and Nicholas Myers, Alex, Travis and Amber Miller, Rachel (Robert) Pachan, Linda (Corey) Huard, Ryan, Mackenzie, Nicole, Konnor and Brooklyn Foy, and Micheal and Ezra Messer. Sister: Jeanette Clifton, Brother: Michael Foy. He recently met his 1st great granddaughter, Jolene Pachan.
A private funeral will be held at this time with a celebration of life next summer.
