Jared Michael Smith

Above all else, Jared loved his family and will forever be extremely missed. He had a quick wit and always had us laughing. He could fix about anything, loved gaming, coding, hiking and enjoyed playing Lacrosse in high school—he was a 2016 DeWitt graduate. In the last couple of years, he taught himself French, how to play the guitar and just started learning to cook. He was always reading and wanting to learn new things. He recently began a delivery job with a great team that he loved working with. It gives us great strength knowing Jared had Jesus in his heart.

The family would like to thank Jared's dear friend, Carson, for being a great friend, roommate and for really helping the family when they needed him the most.

Jared is survived by his parents Mike and Terri (Randolph) Smith; siblings Telah Smith and Sam Smith (fiancé Mackenzie Hoort); grandparents Vernor and Patricia Smith; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Jared is preceded in death by his sisters Tara and Taryn Smith; grandparents Mona Lou and Harley Randolph; and great uncle Ken Schmidt.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, January 12th at 11:00 a.m., with a visitation one hour prior at New Hope Church, 2170 E Saginaw St. East Lansing, MI 48823. Burial will take place at a later date at Lincoln Township Cemetery in Shepherd, MI.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Smith family.
