He was preceded in death by father, James A Decatur. Surviving to cherish his memory is mother, Emma; sons, James (Kim), Phillip (Jenny); daughter, Heather (John); grandchildren, Kayla, Payton, Tatum, Alissa; brother, Bryan; sisters, Kathy (Tom), Karen, Janine (Joe), Lisa (Brian), Wendy(Jim); and many nieces and nephews.
Jim retired from the Michigan National Guard. He enjoyed music, and fishing off his pontoon boat on Tubbs Lake. Jim was an avid Michigan State Spartan fan, Dewitt Panther fan, and a NASCAR enthusiast.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2019 from 1-3pm at the DeWitt VFW, 12250 Old US 27, DeWitt, MI 48820.
In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to, American Heart association or American Diabetes Foundation.
