Israel R. Lozano of Dewitt, Michigan — Age 88, passed away at home, with family by his side, on August 28, 2024. He was born on December 12, 1935, in Refugio, Texas, to Roman and Valentina Lozano. He was the youngest of four children.
Surviving are his children: Christine Lozano, Israel “Gordie” Lozano, and Cynthia Rocha; 8 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 4 stepchildren, Ramon (Starr) Velasquez, Margie (Mike) Spalding, Magdalena (Glen) Casanova, and Ricardo (Tracy) Velasquez; and several step-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Roman and Valentina Lozano; siblings, Leandro Lozano, Roman Lozano, and Irene Vanegas; his first wife, Rose S. Lozano; his second wife, Macedonia Velasquez Lozano; and grandson, Nikolaus A. Rocha.
The funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, September 6, 2024, at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes in Dewitt, with interment to follow in Chapel Hill Gardens. His family will receive friends at the funeral home from 9:30 a.m. until the service time on Friday.
