Virginia (Ginny) M. Giertz McKinstry of DeWitt was born on March 25th, 1929 in Elgin, Illinois and died on June 11th, 2020 at the age of 91. She is survived by her their three sons Rick (Karen), Randall (Diane) and Kurt (Cathy). She is also survived by six grandchildren: Jenni, Justin (Jennifer), Jessica, Molly, Melissa, and Mitchell (Hannah) and four great grandchildren: Liam, Kaiden, Valerie and Jaxon. Ginny was preceded in death by both her parents, one brother and one sister.

Douglas D. McKinstry, age 93, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Tuesday, July 20, 2021, in DeWitt, Michigan. He was born August 6, 1927, in Elgin, Illinois. He proudly served in the US Navy during WWII and Korea. Doug was married to the love of his life, Virginia M. Giertz of Elgin for 69 years. He spent the majority of his rewarding career as Director of the Physical Plant at Lansing Community College, retiring in 1991 after 29 years.

Doug is survived by his three sons, Rick (Karen), Randall (Diane), and Kurt (Cathy); grandchildren, Jennifer, Justin (Jennifer), Jessica, Molly, Melissa (Patrick), Mitchell (Hannah); great-grandchildren, Liam, Kaiden, Jaxon, and Valerie. He was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn and Evelyn (Freed) McKinstry; brother, Warren (Dorothy); and wife, Virginia "Ginny" McKinstry.
