Catherine A. Ives

Catherine Anne Ives of DeWitt and Decatur, Michigan, born September 5, 1941 to Ernest and Mary (Pieracci) LeDuc, passed away February 23, 2015. Catherine was strong in her faith, a loving wife of 50 years, and devoted mother and grandmother. Her grandchildren were the joy of her life. She always put others first and was very compassionate and caring. Prior to retirement, she had a successful nursing career. She was preceded in death by her parents. Surviving to cherish her memory are her husband, Richard Ives; children Beth (Bill) Barber, Lisa (Scott Buhrer) Ives, and James (Danielle) Ives; grandchildren, Maggie and Shay Barber and Carter and Josie Ives; siblings, Ernest (Peg) LeDuc, Jr., Carole (Lou) Bloch, Joe (Clara) LeDuc, Evan LeDuc and Mary (Bruce) Wiersema. A memorial mass will be celebrated at noon on Saturday, February 28 at the Catholic Community of St. Jude, 801 N. Bridge St. in DeWitt. Family will receive friends for one hour prior to mass at the church. Those desiring may make contributions to Decatur Human Services, 102 S. Phelps St., Decatur, MI 49045, in memory of Catherine A.
