Patricia Scarlata Teed

Patricia Ann Scarlata Teed, age 79, passed into the arms of Jesus on February 13, 2024. A memorial visitation will be held at St. Raymond de Penafort Catholic Church, 301 S. I-Oka Avenue, Mt. Prospect, IL, on Saturday, March 23, 2024 at 10 AM, followed by Mass at 11 AM. The service will be livestreamed on the St. Raymond web page. Burial will be at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery at a later date.

Pat was the only child of Salvatore and Mary (Smecca) Scarlata. She was the beloved wife of Jere McDonald Teed and the devoted mother of Katherine Abigail Teed.

Pat started her working life as a secretary at TransUnion Corporation, leaving that position to become an American Airlines Flight Attendant. She returned to TransUnion after her marriage in 1971, working there as an executive secretary. It was her wish to be a stay-at-home mom after the birth of Katherine.

She later worked as a crossing guard for 27 years, serving longer than any other guard for District 25 in Arlington Heights, IL. She loved the crossing guard job at “her corner” and felt personally responsible for the children she protected. Because of her tenure she was proud to guard children of some parents she had protected when they were children in the same schools.

Pat was easy to talk to and empathetic, always willing to listen and to try to help others. She cherished her life-long friendships, and was close to her aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was loyal to her Church and attended Mass regularly. Pat was a beautiful, caring, loving and warm-hearted person.

She is with the Lord, but we will miss her dearly and will remember her always.
