Mary Jane Fallest (DeWald)

Mary Jane Fallest (DeWald), nee Imig, 75 of Wheeling was born December 2, 1947 in Evanston to the late Raymond H. Imig and Margaret F. Roberts and passed away on January 17, 2023. Mary Jane was the beloved wife to the late John DeWald and the late James “Dennis” Fallest; dear sister to Raymond (Ginger) Imig, and Jeffrey Imig; loving mother to Jennifer (Tim) Zymantas, Daniel (Ashley) DeWald; loving step-mother to Valerie (Garrett) Petravicz, David Fallest, Heather (Mike) Sorci, and Jeremy Fallest; fond grandmother to Haley, Jason, Zachary, Jessica, Nicholas, Grace, Nino, Luke, and Matthew.

Mary Jane loved her family and friends very much. She spent her entire life serving others, whether it was through her work, church, helping friends and family, or serving her community. She was always the first one to offer support when it was needed. She always wanted to make people smile. She was silly and goofy all the way to the end, and the nursing home staff described her as having a “wicked sense of humor.”

When she was not helping others, and had some time for herself, Mary Jane enjoyed painting and was a very talented artist. She was also a great cook and took pride in tending to her massive garden. She will be missed dearly.

Interment will be on Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Town of Maine Cemetery, 2101 W. Touhy Ave. Park Ridge, IL 60068.

In lieu of flowers a donation may be made to the Salvation Army.
