Jack is preceded in death by his father Phineas V. Lord, mother Elsie (nee Noltensmeier) Lord, spouses Pauline (nee Naragon) and Arlene (nee Krieger), siblings: Elizabeth “Tommy” Matthews, Evelyn Lawson, Clara Denton, Helen Noe, Bill (Gayle) Lord, Peggy Stephenson, and granddaughter Anna Katherine Main.
He will be lovingly remembered by his siblings George Lord, Mary Tschiffely, and Joan Norris; children Gary (Lawane) Lord, Nancy (Jerry) St. Clair, Paula Havranek, Carol Main, Doug (Elisa) Lord; grandchildren Joanna Maggard, Chris Havranek, Adam Lord, Walter Main, Jenny St. Clair, Chris St. Clair, Jack Lord, and Daniella McCluskey; great-grandchildren Callum Maggard, Moira Maggard, and Maeve McCluskey.
Jack was born in Green River, Wyoming on October 3rd, 1924. He graduated from Baggs High School in 1942. He served from 1943 - 1946 in the European theater during World War II. He earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from University of Colorado in Boulder, Colorado in 1948. He then went on to work as an electrical engineer for all his working years, and owned a small business Wodack Electric Tool in Chicago until he retired.
Jack enjoyed photography, carpentry, DIY projects, tending his roses, and mowing his lawn with his John Deere riding mower.
A visitation for Jack will be held on Wednesday, July 24, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Oehler Funeral Home, 2099 Miner Street, Des Plaines, Illinois. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 25, 2024 at 11:30 AM at the funeral home, followed by a burial service at Ridgewood Memorial Park, 9900 Milwaukee Ave., Des Plaines.
