Our dear friend and Air Force veteran, we love and miss you so very much. Our sorrows for your families loss. Hope and pray these words comfort you some. Starting on your 1st day in Germany 1987 met good people, doing good Air Force stuff: building, creating, exploring—most of all sharing and and gathering cooking some good food.  We fought the good fight: wore gas masks the full hardware and all succeeded.  Such a wonderful time.  Later we both joined the fight to stop Myeloma. You are amazing leaving such a legacy wherever you went. We love you and it’s going to be very hard, but if I know you/you are watching over us.  Peace my dearest friend see you later. 

I became acquainted with Elisa through our Multiple Myeloma Support Group and I was truly surprised to learn of her passing when just last month we spoke on the phone and she did not reveal how her medical challenges continued to limit her life. 
I enjoyed sharing cruise experiences with her and loved hearing about her travel adventures.  I admired her determination, her intelligence and how inquisitive she was as she learned and shared new medical information with our group. I can still hear her laugh and feel her compassion for others. Her courage is truly inspiring and now as you rest, dear Elisa, may we all be comforted in knowing God is cradling you in his arms.

I met Elisa at our MM Support group. She was such a positive woman and was so giving in her ability to help others. She helped a gal, she had just met, to go through stem cell transplant - a huge commitment. That was the kind of person she was. I was honored to be able to stay at her home to help her after her stem cell transplant. I was a terrible nurse but she just hung in their with me and never complained. I am so sorry that I lost track of her in the past two years. I guess I thought she would live forever. Elisa made a huge impact on the world. Rest in peace, dear Elisa. 

We met Elisa at the Multiple Myeloma Support Group in Tucson in 2013.  She was always the life of the meeting, always bringing new information to enthusiastically share with the group. Also, her camaraderie with several other retired members of the US Air Force equally affected by the same ailment was admirable. For sure that helped her to never give up, stay positive, optimistic, and refuse defeat. 

Elisa…….. Thank you for giving us hope and strength during those many past years when we so needed it.

We needed guidance, help, re-assurance that not all was lost. Your example, courage, and willingness to share your experiences -good and bad- helped us better understand the struggle and helped guide us to carry-on in the face of adversity.

Sadly, for us, you now have left this Earth. You will however continue to live in our hearts and memories for ever.

We want to offer here our heartfelt condolences to the members of your family we had the privilege to meet several times in Phoenix at the annual MM Symposium.

I was so sorry to hear about the passing of Elisa.  She was a beautiful example to all of us on the same path.  Her jovial and determined spirit was one we all would want to emulate.  Rest and be at peace, dear friend!

Elisa was a bright, intrepid individual. We bonded over our shared medical challenges and found a few opportunities to get better acquainted outside of the patient support group where we met 8 years ago. 
From her I think my wife and I discovered that courage can be contagious. We shared and complained about the inconveniences of our treatments, of course, but it all seemed less daunting when we said it out loud. More importantly, we would not allow our selves to be defined by a diagnosis, however harsh.
We're very sorry to see you go, Elisa, but you left a bright mark while you were here. I'll do my best to live up to your example.


Elisa was a treasured friend whom I met through a women's investment club here in Tucson. She contributed much to our club in terms of knowledge and advice. She was also helpful to me personally due to our health challenges. I miss her smile and her calm voice. May her memory be a blessing.
