Clara Marie Hall, 90 of DesPlaines, IL passed away of complications due to the Coronavirus on April 16, 2020 at Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, IL. She was born December 1,1929 at 6:00am in Ringgold, VA 20 minutes outside of Danville, VA. Daughter of the late Dave and Gracie Hood. Wife to the late Joseph Edward Hall; loving mother to Gracie Fair, Polly Hoskins, Edward June Hall (Sarah), Sterling Hall (Patricia), Lewis Hall and Marvin Hall (Karla). Both Mother and Grandmother to Irine Hall (Darnell) and Twyla Blount (Jade) in which we are eternally grateful; an abundant number of grandchildren and great grandchildren all of whom will cherish her memory. Preceded in death by her brothers Albert Hood, Herbert Hood, Harvey Hood and Raymond Hood; Clara is survived by her sisters Peggy Ann Hood, Betty Jane Wright, Sarah Ann Hood and Lottie Mae Thomas and brother Mansfield Hood. Anyone who knows Clara knows her passion for Bingo and love for the lottery and casino. However, her greatest joy was when her family gathered together, especially during the holidays. We will all miss her Peach Cobbler, Rice Pudding, Homemade Cornbread, Deviled Eggs, Greens, Fried Apples, Fried Potatoes, Macaroni and Cheese, Turkey, Dressing, Ham, Ribs, Apple Salad, Sweet Tea and the list goes on. She had a talented hand in sewing making and altering her children and Grandchildren's clothes. She will be fondly remembered for walking around the house singing Jesus Loves Me, Amazing Grace and Oh Happy Days. She was a fan of BB King, James Brown and Al Green. Her greatest resource was her unconditional love and forgiving, kind nature. Granny not only fed our bodies, but nurtured our souls. She stood strong on her opinions, but loved without judgment. She was always there when we needed her, rather it be a hot meal, babysitter, caregiver, couch to sleep on or her last penny. Granny, we took you for granted. I pray that God is there for you in ways that most of us were not. I pray that God is comforting you and holding your hand like we wish we could. I pray that he shows you how much you are appreciated and loved the way you deserved to be when you were here. You are such an inspirational, strong woman, daughter, wife, mother and grandmother. I have no doubt that you have entered through Heaven’s gate because you already earned your wings while here on earth. “Well done thy good and faithful servant, come on home and take your rest.” - Matthew
1 Corinthians 15:10
"But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace toward me was not in vain. On the contrary, I worked harder than any of them, though it was not I, but the grace of God that is with me."
