He was born in Chicago in the Logan Square area on November 9, 1952. He retired from AAMA after approximately 30 years of service. Alan was an all around sports fan, especially enjoyed the Chicago Blackhawks, Bears, and Sox.
Alan was a devoted and loved husband, father, father-in-law and grandfather. Loved by many on his 29 year train commute and neighborhood walks. He is survived by his loving wife, Nydia Ross-Jimenez; only daughter, Maria Xochy (Jeff Mayer); grandfather to Anais Ross-Rodriguez, Estevan, Gigi and Marcos Mayer, Kind cat sitter to Grainer and Seeker, loving Wisconsin younger sister Pamela Ross-Lewis and twin nephews Chad and Derek Lewis.
He is preceded in death by his parents Philip and LaVerne Ross, older brother Richard Ross.
Family will be receiving guests on Monday, September 30, 2024 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Oehler Funeral Home, 2099 Miner Street, Des Plaines, IL. A funeral service will take place at 10:00 AM the following day, Tuesday, October 1, 2024 at Oehler Funeral Home. Entombment will immediately follow the funeral service at All Saints Catholic Cemetery and Mausoleum in Des Plaines, IL.
