Velma Lee Baier

Velma Lee Baier, 88, of DeQuincy, Louisiana passed away on Sunday, November 10, 2024. She was born to her late parents, Allie and Lillie Dougharty on February 21, 1936 in Mittie, Louisiana. Velma enjoyed gardening, fishing, and making and selling jelly.

She is survived by her sons, Darwin Baier of Onalaska, Texas, Doyle Baier (Sandy) of Pitkin, Louisiana; two brothers, Troy Dougharty (Darlene) of DeQuincy, and Danny Dougharty (Shelia) of DeQuincy; grandchildren, Roxi, Robert, Hoku, Darla Jo, Travis, Tiffany, Britney, and Dustyn; great grandchildren, Russell, Brytnie, Renae, A.J., Alyssa, Allie, McKenzie, Scarlet, Jakxton, Jaece, and Kyler; along with great-great granchildren, Lief, Orra, and Luna.

Velma is preceded in death by her husband, Edward C. Baier; one son, Darrell Baier; two brothers, Allie Ray Dougharty and Durwood Dougharty; along with one sister, Birdie Faye Alston.

A Graveside Service will be held at Perkins Cemetery in DeQuincy, Louisiana on Thursday, November 14, 2024, at 2:00 pm, with Bro. Mike Streams officiating.
