Martin Lee Powell, 61, of DeQuincy, Louisiana, passed away on Friday, December 13, 2024 in Lafayette, Louisiana. He was born on August 7, 1963 in DeQuincy, Louisiana. He loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. Martin also enjoyed being on the water; it was a source of peace for him.
He is survived by his two daughters, Elyse Riggs (Dirk) of Ocean Springs, Mississippi and Laura Lee McCollough (Brandon) of Vancleave, Mississippi; sister, Valerie Bourgeois of DeQuincy, Louisiana; stepsister, Kathryn Chitty McDannel of Bloomington, Illinois; three granddaughters; along with one grandson.
Martin is preceded in death by his mother, Martha Ann Cooper; father, Harry Powell; and his grandparents, G.O. and Viola Martin.
A private Celebration of Martin’s life will be held at a later date.
