He was born November 13, 1934 at St. Luke's Hospital in Denver, Colorado to parents Thomas Reese and Zula Mae (Stevenson) Roberts. Tom was their only child.
Tom was married to Betty Patterson in June 1954, Beverly Ward in August 31, 1962 and Judy Roberts nee Reeves on August 22, 1987.
Tom attended Steadman Elementary, Cole Junior High and was a High School graduate of Manual High School where he lettered in football and track. He would often talk and tell stories about being raised at Clayton College Home for Boys School. He had three very close friends: Chuck Howard, David Howard and Jerry Strais.
He worked at Painter's Supply and while working there he won a cruise from 3M for his tremendous sales and leadership. Throughout his life he held a career as an automotive painter, Painter's Supply Salesman, United Machine as a delivery driver, Mercedes Benz of Littleton as a Porter, Littleton BMW as a Porter and Denver BMW as a Porter. He was a successful businessman, and loved his customers and suppliers.
Tom had many hobbies and interests. He loved painting Christmas and Halloween houses, collecting Sprint Cars and 1934 Fords, Bowling, watching football, hockey, basketball, sprint cars and Nascar. He enjoyed being on the pit crew for race driver Tommy Franz at Indy race track. Going to the Sprint Races with his son Don. He had a passion for travel, and enjoyed going on the Windjammer barefoot cruise. He had a great sense of humor and was quite the prankster.
Tom and Judy received an award from Arapahoe County for assisting a Cab Driver that had been taken hostage at gun point. They received "Mr. and Mrs. Eagle of the Year" award for the Fraternal Order of the Eagle's. Numerous customer service awards from BMW to say the least. He was named to the Fraternal Order of Eagle's Colorado State Hall of Fame and served as State President in 2016-2017. He received his Past State Worthy Presidents pin and Gold Card. He achieved so many accomplishments and was truly proud. He created many amazing memories of showed so much devotion to these organizations.
Tom is survived by loving wife Judy Roberts of Littleton, CO; children Kathy Joyce (Roberts) Del Sol of California, Brenda June (Roberts) Del Sol of California, Chandra Dawn (Roberts) Mason of Colorado and Ronda Rae (Roberts) & Jim Parson of Florida; stepchildren Cheri Rae (Carney) Stepner of Colorado and Gene Eric Reeves of Colorado; numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; numerous cousins and his cats Patchwork and Taffy his "Golden Girl".
He is preceded in death by his parents Thomas and Zula Roberts; loving son Donald William Roberts who passed on January 7, 2017.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 11, 2023, at Olinger Hampden Mortuary, 8600 E Hampden Ave, Denver, CO 80231 at 11:00 am. A reception will follow the memorial service at Englewood Eagle's Club, 3780 S. Jason St., Englewood, CO 80113.
