Ron was 4 years old, Ronda was 2 and Robyn was Fourteen months.
Renee was a red head and had freckles. For Easter 1960, my parents came to visit. Renee's grandmother brought her a pink and white checkered dress and bonnet. The kids were all dressed up to go to church. We were trying to keep Renee from crawling so she would stay clean. She stood up and walked her first steps.
We moved around a lot; then in 1969 we came to the Denver area to stay. Renee attended Laredo Elementary in Aurora, then Jr. High and High School in Westminster, graduating from Westminster High.
Her son Ryan was born on the 4th of July, 1979. She loved gardening and flowers, including flower arranging. She loved collecting antiques and looking for collectibles.
Renee worked at Samsonite Corporation, Gates Rubber Company, bartended and painted homes.
Renee's daughter, Brittany was born December 30th 1987. When Brittany was 3 years old, Renee began salvage and recycling work. Renee loved being outdoors and loved all the people that she worked with. The highlight of her day was taking her salavage to All Recycling. When Renee's grandson Elias (Ryan's son) was born, she was his caretaker. Renee was so proud of this baby. When he was old enought for a car seat, he went with her in the truck. Renee and Rob worked with different police departments in the state, taking crashed cars to high schools to educate kids about the dangers of drunk driving. Renee was a wonderful cook. Her homemade chicken and noodles, kraut burgers, homemade rolls and zucchini bread were the best. As a teenager and adult, Renee's hair was a beautiful auburn red, naturally curly and down around her shoulders. The last couple of years have been hard times for her, but she always had a smile on her face. I believe that her spirit is with her sister Robyn, who died November 29th 2002.
I LOVE YOU RENEE,
MOM
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Our mother had an undeniable amount of heart, and determination. Any time she set her mind to something, she put her entire being into it, and that never changed in her love for us.
Looking back now, it has been possible that not enough gratitude had been paid to her for all she put on the line for us. She had a warm heart for helping people out. She would sacrifice her own safety and comfort to try to help someone she felt needed it more. She had no outside motivation to do these things. She did them because it made her feel good. She never asked for anything in return, nor did she expect anything!
A true soldier, she knew what it was like to be back into corner, but never received a medal of courage or valor of honor for all she has been through. In a world of apples she was handed lemons. I miss the way she let her true self shine, no matter who was around.
It's a fact that there are not enough people in the world today that possess the same tenacity and sheer will to live, than our mother. A scrapper in many ways; she would stand for what she believed in , and fought for what she felt was right.
She took peoples unwanted metals, and turned it into personal treasure. She was always there to help put a broken heart back together. She always saw at least a shred of good in everything.
She had a beautiful smile that hid the pain and emotional scars she endured. She was a pillar of strength until the end.
She was our star whose bright shine was stolen all too soon. She will forever be present in our thoughts; tattooed upon our hearts; and always remembered in our prayers.
She was a loving mother, caring daughter and a wonderful sister.... She was the total package and truly an angel in disguise. Her loss is devastating to all, but her memory will thrive with any of us who were lucky enough to have the light of her love around us.
