Pastor Menanti Sianipar went home to be with Jesus during the evening of Thursday, October 31, 2024. Menanti was born on September 16, 1952 to Resi Panggabean and Pandapotan Sianipar in Tarutung Kota, Indonesia and grew up with 11 siblings.
Menanti served in the Indonesian government, Office of Religion, after Seminary and later earned a Master of Education degree from University of Oregon. His wife and children eventually joined him in Eugene, OR. He also taught Indonesian at Lane Community College. He then received a Call from Indonesian Ecumenical Lutheran Church (IECF) in Aurora, CO, where he served for seven years. His next Call was to Gereja Kristen Indonesia (GKI) where he served until retirement. Also, as part of his ministry, Menanti worked as a Direct Service Provider at Bethesda Lutheran Communities (now AbleLight) throughout much of his time in Colorado.
Menanti was always an academic and loved to read, but he also enjoyed playing chess, gardening, carpentry, sewing, grilling, and playing the organ.
Menanti is preceded in death by siblings, Dinar Pangaribuan and Dame Panggabean. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Rosianna Simanjuntak; two children, Yanti (Joel) Dieterichs and Romeo Sianipar; by four grandchildren, Abigail, Paul, Nathan, and Ezra; also survived by his stepmother, Juliana Panggabean, and his numerous siblings; Rita Pangaribuan, Lodewijk Sianipar, Mery Sianipar, Franky Sianipar, Jubiletta Sianipar, Lambok Sianipar, David Sianipar, Evelyn Sianipar, Monika Sianipar.
Memorials are received by the family for expenses related to his unexpected death and burial.
A visitation will be held from 9-10 AM followed by the funeral service for Menanti on Saturday, November 16, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM at Peace With Christ Lutheran Church, 3290 S Tower Rd, Aurora, CO 80013. A graveside service will occur Saturday, November 16, 2024 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at Olinger Hampden Mortuary & Cemetery, 8600 East Hampden Ave, Denver, CO 80231. Following the burial a reception will be held back at the church.
