A resident of Aurora, Colorado, he worked as a fitter with the Public Service Company of Colorado, later renamed Xcel Energy, for over 30 years, up until his retirement.
As the father to Amber, Arion, Cameron, Deyett, Devin, Mateo, and Lenny; Leonard was a great father to his children and would do anything possible to help them out, should the need arise.
However, Leonard is most fondly remembered for his impact on youth sports in the city of Aurora. For nearly 30 years he has coached, mentored, and led the children of Aurora on a volunteer basis, helping to instill sportsmanship and values onto all the children he coached. He coached or was involved with various programs, including the Aurora Youth League, Arapahoe Little League, Aurora Parks and Recreation, Aurora Hills Middle School, and Gateway High School. Of these endeavors, Leonard is most associated with his volunteer time with the Aurora Youth League and the Centaurs organization.
As a grandfather, Leonard loved his grandchildren, and his retirement time was spent spending time, babysitting and figuring out opportunities and chances to see those grandchildren that didn’t reside locally. His grandchildren are Airi, Alaina, Alyssa, Angel, Angel Reine, Brooklyn, Halima, Hikari, Jace, Jaxson, Kirari, Leah, Levi, Lina, Marcelo, Penelope, and Sheiri.
Leonard and his wife Susan shared many things in common including traveling the country RVing, caring for their 4 legged children, and watching a variety of sports, especially their beloved Minnesota Vikings. Leonard also leaves behind former wives Kim, Lillian, and, Angie.
Leonard’s time on earth was much too short, but the fond memories of him as a friend, father, husband and coach will last eternally for those that knew and loved him.
