Helen Ruth Reasoner, age 90 passed away on October 30, 2023 surrounded by her close family. Born in Ft. Lupton on May 19, 1933 to Buford and Bernice Stein, Helen is survived by her husband of 70 plus years, Alfred, her three children, Susan Burrows (Royal) of Greeley, CO., Patricia Uyeno (Alan) of Discovery Bay, CA., Steven Reasoner (Elaine) of Klamath Falls, OR. and her sister Charlotte of Denver along with 4 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Growing up on a farm in a rural community Helen worked side by side with her two brothers and sister to harvest corn, tomatoes, and sugar beets. They raised cattle and chickens, ate onion sandwiches and upon graduation from Ft. Lupton High School, Helen moved to the Denver area and started her career as a student nurse at St. Luke’s hospital. She met Alfred in 1951 and they married in March 1953. By the time she retired in 1995 from Aurora Presbyterian she had raised three children and earned a Master’s degree in nursing, was promoted to director of patient care, executive director and associated administrator of nursing. Her greatest wish was to foster in her children a continuation of the values she held dear.
In her spare time Helen loved to golf, visit with family and friends and travel the world. She never missed a special date and she decorated for every holiday. She made many friends in Heather Gardens, building 235 and is missed by those she left behind in Sunridge.
A Celebration of Life Service will take place on November 7th from 5-7 pm at Heather Gardens Clubhouse Chapel, 2888 S. Heather Gardens Way.
