Florence Thompson was born in 1934 to Margaret Viola Salazar she had 3 other sisters. Margaret Salazar passed away and they were all adopted separately. Flo had an accident and burned her leg severely and underwent many surgeries. Edith Wolford saw this beautiful child and adopted her. Edith Wolford was a teacher and principal for 52 years. Wolford Elementary was named after her in honor of her life and times. When Florence finished school she went to nurses training. She had Andre and lost his father. She then meet Leonidas David Thompson. They married and had 3 children. He adopted Andy. Surviving children are Andre Thompson, Sheryl Martinez, Edith Campbell and David Thompson. David Thompson Sr. was in the Air Force, so they traveled across the country until David Sr. retired in 1971. They settled in Denver, Colorado. Florence was reunited with her sisters in 1959. Margaret Salazar and Delores Pacheco. They didn't know they named their children the same names. It's ironic and a coincidence. David Thompson Sr. became a electrician at Samsonite and Florence worked for Doctors at Fitzsimmons Hospital. She retired in 1983. David in 1979. Her hobby was shopping and diamonds. She's better known as Mama Diamonds. She also loved to travel. She just loved those two things. She was widowed in 1999 when David Sr. passed away. She was a strong woman, a business woman, a loving, giving caring and beautiful person She lived life to the fullest. She was her own boss always. Florence had 4 children 16 grandchildren 8 great grandchildren. She has touched everyone's life by her giving nature. She will be greatly missed. She is loved by so many and we will truly miss her.
