Married to Esther McLean on September 22nd, 1957 in Stratton, Colorado.

Served in the Army from 1958 to 1960 in Panama.

Employment - Most of his working years were spent in Government. Including the City of Englewood, State of Colorado, and Arapahoe County.

Lived in Stratton, Colorado, and the Denver Metro Area.

Dean enjoyed gardening, baking, and spending time with family and friends.

He was a member of Christ Community Church.

He leaves a legacy of hard work, dedication to his family, faith, perseverance, and love. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

Survived by his loving wife, Esther Herndon. Two children - Chris Mathews and Gary Herndon (Leslie Herndon), Four Grandchildren - Mike Mathews, Michelle Brennan, Cassie Herndon and Tom Herndon, Two Great Grand Children - Mirella Mathews-Chavez and Maggie Brennan.

Preceded in death by Daughter Julie Herndon. Parents Walter and Elsie Herndon. Sister - Leola Bunch and Brother - Leroy Herndon.

No services will be held. A private memorial will be held at a later date.
