David, was born in Denver to Lila and David Stitt. He grew up with his siblings, Laurie, Steven, Dean, and Howard. After graduating high school he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps where he served four years before being honorably discharged. After his service he worked at the United States Postal Service.
He was a kind man, always putting others needs before his own. He loved his country, his family, friends, the Denver Broncos, fishing, westerns, and playing poker.
In his late teens he met Cathy Stitt. They fell in love and have spent 46 years together. Within a year or so of being married they had started a family. Being a kind and dependable husband / father was of the utmost importance to David and he certainly did not disappoint when it came to wholeheartedly loving his family.
In addition to his partner Cathy Stitt he is the father to five girls, Bridgit Mikeworth, Lisa Gabriel, Christie Wood, Cheryl Stitt, and Michelle Stitt and brother to siblings Laurie Marshall and Steven Stitt. He is Grandfather to 8 grandchildren, and Great Grandpa to one great grand daughter. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and uncle. He was preceded in passing by his father David Clark Stitt Jr, mother Lila Stitt, brothers Dean Stitt and Howard Stitt.
The funeral service will be held at Dignity Memorial on Tuesday, July 27, 2021 beginning at 10:30 am. There will be two visitations at the same location beginning on Monday July 26, 2021 from 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm and an additional just before his services, on Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at 9:30 am. His family will be present to welcome loved ones.
