A memorial service will be held at 1:00 P.M., Tuesday, December 7, 2010 at Parkside Baptist Church, 301 N. Lillis Lane, Denison, TX 75020, with Dr. Chet Haney officiating.
William was born in Newsome, Texas on June 16, 1918, the son of Jessie Wright and Bess Burroughs. He married Edna Hook in Patterson, NJ and she preceded him in death. He then married Betty Jo Reid at Parkside Baptist Church in Denison and she preceded him in death also.
He was a member of the Boy Scouts of America and the American Society for Mechanical Engineers. His achievements were: Eagle Scout, Three Palms, founder of Temtex, and Temperature Systems and Components Co. He was an engineer with CCC when building the Denison Dam; engineer with the War Department in Washington, DC; engineer with Curtis Wright Propeller, World War II; has multiple patents, three still classified. He moved back to Denison 25 years ago and purchased Ward Central School, which became Temtex.
He is survived by daughter Jacalyn Erskine of Bothell, WA; son Donald N. Wright of Garland, TX; granddaughters Katherine Wright and Amanda Wright, RN; brother John Ken Wright of Richardson, TX
