Kenneth Ray Askins

The family will be at Bratcher Funeral Home for visitation from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M., Thursday, August 14.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, August 15 at Parkside Baptist Church with Dr. Chet Haney and Rev. Jerry Coffman officiating. Pallbearers will be grandsons Jarred Askins, Nathan Askins, Paul Hamilton, Steve Hamilton and Jeremy Rhoads. Burial will follow at Cedarlawn Memorial Park in Sherman, Texas.

Kenneth was born on Monday, October 29, 1934 in Paris, Arkansas, the son of Harold Askins and Minnie Cain Askins. He married Dorothy Hayes August 23, 1974 in Irving, Texas. He was a member of Parkside Baptist Church and was self-employed as a fabricator.

He is survived by his wife Dorothy Ruth (Drucy); children Dustene Ann Hamilton and husband Bob of Dallas, Richard Rhoads and wife Elaine of Arkansas, James Rhoads and wife Diana of Plano, Kelley Rhoads and wife Wanda of Irving, Rocky Rhoads and wife Chris of Irving, Tammi Askins of Irving, Ray Askins and wife Kathy of Frisco, Patau Rhoads of Fredericksburg; brother Leon Askins and wife Mary of Arkansas; sister Hilda Valentine and husband RD of Arkansas; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by his parents.
