Visitation will be 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Thursday, February 9, 2017 at Bratcher Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10:00 am, Friday, February 10, 2017 at Bratcher Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Ron Cunningham of Hyde Park Presbyterian Church of Denison; Burial will follow at Cedarlawn Memorial Park in Sherman.
Christine was born February 27, 1925 to James Dalton and Virgie (Burriss) Garner in Charleston, Arkansas; one of three children. She moved to Denison in 1940. She attended college for a year and a half and eventually went into the Civil Service at Perrin Air Force Base where she met her first husband Master Sargent Joseph Oscar Gilstrap and they had one child, Christine Joann (Gilstrap) Coffey. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Denison where she taught Sunday school and her daughter Joann was in cradle role. She then later married Guy Forisha and was married to him for 10 years until his passing. She went on to meet her third husband, Raymond Ford and they were married on April 16, 1987. She was a member of the Elks Ladies Auxiliary and Business & Professional Women’s Club. She loved dancing and gardening and spending time with her only grandson Josh, while Joann was in college. She worked at the Herald Democrat for more than 28 years.
Christine was preceded in death by her parents, grandson Ross Anthony Reinert; first husband Joseph Gilstrap, second husband Guy Forisha; third husband Raymond Ford and two brothers James H. Garner and Leonard H. Garner.
She is survived by her daughter Joann Coffey of Denison; sister-in-law Becky Garner of San Marcus, Texas; grandson Josh Randall Reinert and wife Beth of Denison; great-grandchildren Zachary Ross Reinert, Riley Olivia Reinert, Jacob Randall Reinert and Emily Claire Reinert.
