Louie was born June 21, 1935 in Acala, Texas to Pedro and Simona Amaya. He enjoyed spending time with family, reading, gardening and woodworking. Louie touched many lives and will be deeply missed by his family, co-workers and all who knew him.
Louie is survived by his children Dalila (Sterling) Wise of Lompoc, CA, Nora (Gilbert) Valenzuela of Bakersfield, CA, Louie Jr. (Valerie) Amaya of Bakersfield, CA, Alexandra (Anna C) Amaya of Santa Maria, CA and Steve (Olga V) Amaya of Terra Bella, CA.; 9 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; brothers Pete (Galdina) Amaya of Arleta, CA and Philip (Linda) Amaya of Tumwater, WA; his "Best Friend" Compadre Marciano "Neni" Flores of Van Nuys, CA; numerous nieces and nephews, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 58 years, Beatrice; infant son Louie; parents Pedro & Simona and siblings Joe, Jessica and Sophia.
On March 24, 2017 at 10:00 am, there will be a Funeral Mass at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Delano, CA. Burial to follow at North Kern District Cemetery in Delano, CA.
