Our dearest Janita Taylor passed away in Delano, California at her home on August 24, 2022, at the age of 81. Janita’s gift was kindness. She always put the needs of friends and family before her own. She gave of herself not out of obligation but from the love in her heart. Janita will be greeted by our Lord in the fullness of a good and faithful servant and hear Him say, “Welcome you are home.”
Janita was born in, Holdenville, Oklahoma on September 9, 1941 to parents Emanuel & Velda (Perry) Carter. Moved to Earlimart, California in 1944, and graduated from Delano High School “Class of 1959.” Janita met the love of her life, Roger Taylor, in the summer of 1955. Roger and Janita married June 12, 1959, and established their family in Delano. They enjoyed going to their children, and later grandchildren’s, games and dance recitals. Roger and Janita were committed to each other and loved having fun together throughout their 63 years of marriage.
Janita worked at Terrace School, until she accepted a position as Clerk II at Albany Park School. Working at the school over 30 years co-workers became her second family. Former students remembered her from years past, always greeting her with a “Hello Mrs. Taylor,” never forgetting her caring heart.
Being the eldest of four children, Janita had the most generous heart; her siblings truly knew her deep love. The weekly phone calls to her family, where she would check in on them or just wanted to hear their voice, will be missed by many.
Janita was the best example of a Godly Woman. She was a surrogate Mother, Grandmother, and friend to anyone who needed her. Being kind and quick to forgive was a trait everyone knew. When you think of Janita, we are reminded of the woman in the Bible who broke an alabaster jar filled with expensive perfume at the feet of Jesus. She washed his feet with the perfume and the beautiful fragrance filled the room. Even though Janita has left this earthly world her heavenly fragrance remains with us in the memories of family gatherings at her home, lingering in the faces of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
She is survived by husband, Roger Taylor, son Randy Taylor. Grandchildren; Teanna Taylor, Cody (Sofia) Taylor, Nicholas Taylor, David Taylor, Kimberly Taylor (Tyson Day), and Ashley Taylor. Great Grandchildren; Madison Myrick, Makenzie Myrick, Mazee Myrick, Hudson Day, Summer Taylor and Noah Pompa. Sister; Barbara Gross (Augie Padilla). Brother; Ronnie (Dianna) Carter.
